1. Great Barrier Reef

Have you ever done snorkeling or scuba diving before? You might have done it several times, but not in the largest coral reef of the world. Great Barrier Reef is regarded as a world heritage site. It contains different species of sea creatures including whales, dolphins, porpoises, turtles, sea snakes, stingray, sharks and saltwater crocodiles.
This reef is believed to be more than 6 thousand years old. It is situated in Coral see in Queensland. Jump into clear pristine water and start exploring nature's beautiful sea creatures. You can also find boat tours along the coast.

2. Uluru

Uluru is another UNESCO World Heritage site in Australia. It is a splendid rock in Northern Australia. At about 348 meters in height and 9.4 km in width, Uluru is not a sight to be missed. This site is revered by the Aborigines and hence they do not deem it proper to climb it. Walking is allowed around it where you can see its sandstone changing color from orange, to blue, violet or red during sunset and sunrise. The Aborigines believe that the spirit of their ancestors lies underneath the rock and that is why they hold it sacred.

3. The Great Ocean Road

Driving along the great ocean road is a must do not just because a lot of films and tv commercials have been shot there, but because it is a thrilling ride which one has to experience. It is a winding cliff top road. The scenery is breathtaking and the ride will make you feel like you're soaring in the air. It was constructed in 1930 in memory of Australian soldiers.

4. Crocodiles Galore

Australia is home to some of the largest species of crocodiles. They look dangerous but not all are considered as man eaters. There are many crocodile farms where you can see crocodile out in the open. Speaking of reptiles, you also shouldn’t miss goannas and thorny devils while you're in Australia. You can find them at Francois Peron National Park. It has its own share of reptiles which you won’t see in the rest of the world including a lot of lizard. So, it is definitely not for people who are afraid of reptiles.

This is not the usual museum you would visit anywhere around the world. Located in Tasmania, it is a private funded museum by Tasmanian gambler-turned-art collector millionaire David Welsh. Here you'll find new and ancient stuff collected by David Welsh.
