The one thing which truly makes a trip unforgettable is the delicious food whose taste captures the palate and remains in your memory for the rest of your days. When we talk about Australian food, one word comes to my mind and that is exotic and sweet all combined on the platter.

1. Crocodile:

Crocodile meat definitely fits the definition of exotic. As soon as you tasted one, you’ll realized that it’s just like any other meats. Most people even say that crocodile meat tastes like chicken. When you head to Australia, try a crocodile steak, or a crocodile burger.

2. Damper Bread

Damper is a home-made bread that is cooked over coals. It’s a different kind of bread which doesn’t contain yeast. It used to be the food of the earlier Aussie countryside's in the colonial era.

3. Seafood

Australia is surrounded by water from all sides and that means abundant amounts of scrumptious sea food. Visiting Australia and not trying out their exquisite seafood would make your trip incomplete. King prawns are obviously their specialty followed by barramundi, coral trout and red emperor fish.

5. Vegemite

Vegemite is basically a spread which looks like a nutella chocolate spread but in actual it is made with brewers yeast extract, vegetables and other spices. You can spread vegemite on any bread or toast and have it as breakfast instead of jam or butter or simply when you want to feel like having a snack. It is often also used as a soup ingredient.

As you don’t leave the Southeast Asian countries without tasting the fruit Durian, you also don’t leave Australia
